Starting from the Andean highlands you will pass the mystic tree world of the "forest of the elves" and finally reach the Manu Cloud Forest. You will be impressed by the unbelievable variety of flora and fauna. Explore this unique biosphere with your guide and indulge yourself with deep relaxation in the wonderful idyll of the Manu Jungle Lodge TAMBO PAITITI. On your return to Cusco you will hop on the MTB again.

Cusco / Tambo Paititi
We start our trip in the early morning leaving Cusco in our private bus. During the journey you can enjoy the impressive landscape, passing small communities. Leaving the colonial village Paucartambo behind, you will reach the Acjanaco Pass (3,550 m), the entrance to the Manu National Park. After a delicious lunch above the eastern slopes of the Andes with a view over the canopy of the Amazon rainforest, your mountain bike adventure starts: a large downhill into the Cloud Forest, more than 50 km descending the lush eastern slopes of the Andes from 3,550 meters down to 1,500 meters! You will reach TAMBO PAITITI (1,500 m) within the Manu Cloud Forest in the afternoon.

Tambo Paititi
The early morning is the best time for bird-watching and observation of other animals of the Cloud Forest. Leaving TAMBO PAITITI before sunrise you will get familiar with the flora and fauna of this part of the Manu National Park. You might see the Andean Cock of the Rock (national bird of Peru), Toucan, Quetzal, Tanager and Motmot as well as Woolly Monkeys, Brown Capuchin Monkeys or Night Monkeys. The Manu Cloud Forest is also habitat of the rare Spectacled Bear, the Jaguarondi, Ocelot, Puma, Weasel, Otter, squirrels and a big family of rodents and bats. After this walk you will be welcomed with a delicious breakfast in TAMBO PAITITI. In the afternoon your guide will invite you for another observation walk. Of course, you may also just relax observing nature from the terrace of the lodge and other viewpoints, or you can have a refreshing bath in the San Pedro River. After dinner, during a last walk, you will experience nature within dark and learn more about the fauna and flora of the Manu Cloud Forest.

This morning offers another opportunity for the observation of the Cloud Forest’s wildlife. After breakfast you will take the bus back to the Acjanaco Pass and may take chance of the long and soft downhill by mountain bike to Paucartambo. After lunch, the bus will take you to the Huachuqasa Pass where you can enjoy the last bike ride to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. You will arrive in Cusco by bus in the afternoon.
