These moderate one-day runs down the Urubamba River through the Sacred Valley of the Incas combine mild rapids, snow-capped peaks, native Quechua communities and riverside Inca ruins. These trips can easily be added as an extension to our other programs.
Huambutio or Cusipata Section
We pick you up at your hotel in Cusco between 9:00am-9:30am and drive for approximately 40 minutes to Huambutio, where our passengers receive instruction on security and equipment. Next we enter the river to enjoy 2 hours of adventure and fun, appreciating incredible views along the way. After a healthy lunch on the banks of the river, we return to Cusco arriving approximately 3:30pm.
Ollantaytambo Section
We pick you up at your hotel in Cusco or the Sacred Valley and drive to the Adventure Center, located at K84 between Urubamba and Ollantaytambo. The Adventure Center has a private area to embark and dressing rooms with toilets and showers. After instruction on safety and equipment we begin our 2 hour river journey, appreciating incredible scenery and Inca terraces along the way. Finally, we enjoy a healthy lunch at a private beach near Hachicata before returning to Cusco in the afternoon.
Huaran Section
We depart Cusco and drive 1 hour to the area near Huaran in Calca. From here we run the Urubamba River for approximately 2 hours, enjoying beautiful scenery along the way.
After our healthy picnic lunch on the banks of the river, we return to Cusco in the afternoon.
