Our treks are located in the three principle Andes mountain ranges of Southern Peru, the Vilcanota, Vilcabamba, and Urubamba, and in the sub-tropical jungles at the base of the Amazon. We follow original ancient Inca trails through traditional Andean villages,treks peru, trekking machu picchu, ausangate treks,Choquequirao treks, appreciating the rich flora and fauna and numerous archeological sites along the way, including the marvelous Sanctuary of Machu Picchu. We specialize in choosing trails that are less-traveled, offering our guests a true wilderness experience. All treks are reasonably-paced with varying levels of difficulty to accommodate all fitness levels. Trips include a tour leader, guides, camp staff, and a cook. Delicious meals are prepared with the highest standard of hygiene and served in a comfortable dining tent. All staff are trained to follow Leave No Trace wilderness camping guidelines and many of our treks include authentic cultural encounters and participation in community-based projects with local communities. Our top-quality equipment includes double/triple-occupancy storm-shield tents, comfortable chairs and dining tables, cooking and kitchen utensils, and a well-stocked first-aid kit. To receive this certification, we must prove our accreditation with the Ministry of Tourism (MITINCI) and demonstrate compliance with the statutes of the National Institute of Natural Resources (INRENA). These statutes require us to follow the Law for Porters, manage waste and garbage in an environmentally-friendly manner, and demonstrate adequate camping and safety equipment. Passing through the rich pastoral regions of the Cordillera Urubamba, we traverse high mountain peaks and sub-tropical valleys, stopping along the way to enjoy scenic lagoons, natural hot springs, and Inca remains. The remoteness of the area has allowed its people to preserve traditions of llama and alpaca herding, potato cultivation, and colorful weaving dating back to the Incas. These fascinating treks offer a first-hand look at the life of the Andean farmer and a journey into a region of outstanding beauty.

SALKANTAY TO MACHU PICCHU
The dramatic Cordillera Vilcabamba is a wonderful alternative for those who want to take a less-traveled and exceptionally beautiful route to Machu Picchu. Mount Salkantay is the 2nd largest mountain in the entire Cusco area (2nd only to the mighty Mount Ausangate) and is said to be the "guardian" that stands between the mountains and the jungle.

With the Quechua name meaning “Golden Cradle,” the mysterious and dazzling Inca city of Choquequirao is located in the beautiful landscape of theVilcabamba Range over the Apurimac River Canyon. Dense forest covered this Inca site for many years and has just recently been revealed. According to historians, Choquequirao was the dwelling of the last rebel Incas of Vilcabamba, and like Machu Picchu, the Spanish were thought never to have discovered it.

This trek is like no other in the Cusco region. It is a perfect option for persons who were wanting a little bit shorter of a trek, with a lower altitude (the highest pass is 3,800 meters). While this trek is the shortest of the alternatives, it also has the most ruins to see along the way as well. One of the better parts about the way that we do the trek though is that we stay at the home of a typical host family on the side of the mountain, overlooking the Sacred Valley of the Incas below you.
